How Guru Gobind Singh established Khalsa Panth?

 

On the Baisakhi holiday in 1699, Guru Gobind Singh Ji founded the Khalsa Panth. A group of military saints was known as the Khalsa Panth. They had a responsibility to defend the innocent and against all forms of injustice.

During the Baishakhi, Guru Gobind Singh appeared in front of the throngs of Sikhs gathering in Anandpur Sahib while holding a sword from a tent. He issued a challenge to any Sikh willing to give his life in order to join the Khalsa Panth. In agreement, a volunteer entered the tent with the leader. After some time, Guru Gobind Singh Ji came back with the blood-stained sword. He engaged a second volunteer in a challenge, then did it again with five fighters.

The majority of attendees started to feel nervous about what was happening. They were present when the five men left the tent and came back. The men were dubbed the Panj Pyare, or the Beloved Five, from that point forward.
